Hear from Our Beneficiaries

Mr. Sher Khan

I am extremely appreciative that V4E set up camp at our school for three days to do eye exams and screenings for 500 kids, teachers, and support personnel. Four students visited prestigious institutions for additional checkups, one of my students underwent surgery, and several of our students and staff received their free glasses. Many thanks to the V4E team.

When students can’t see the board clearly, not only do they struggle, but teachers also have issues because they can’t communicate their message to students. Now that the glasses have been given out, it’s much easier for teachers. If the student isn’t sitting in front or even in the middle, they’re not losing interest like they used to. I think that awareness sessions should be held every quarter about eye health and hygiene. Kids are the future of Pakistan, and we need to take good care of them.

Children were facing numerous challenges when they couldn’t see the board clearly, and this posed difficulties for teachers as well. We promptly recommended that parents have their children undergo eye check-ups.The eye camp organized by your organization has proven to be incredibly beneficial for our students. It not only enhances their academic performance but also boosts their overall confidence. Some parents approached us and shared that their children have been happier and more relaxed since receiving glasses. Not only is their vision problem solved, but common headaches can also be alleviated.

Since our schools are in a community with a severe dearth of educated parents. Most of the time, parents are unaware that their kids are having vision difficulties. Our pupils will be protected from issues in the future if similar camps are held here often.

In our government schools, the size of a classrooms usually big. Students with poor vision have a lot of difficulty with classroom tasks. They rely on the other kids to complete their work and share it with them so they may replicate it. By doing this, they make the same mistakes that other students have made. This is a huge issue.

If the kids with impaired eyesight did not obtain the front seats, they tried to replicate their peers’ work or came in front and tried to copy the work while standing. This causes disruption for other pupils and compromised classroom discipline. Not only did they gain confidence because of obtaining glasses, but I also noticed joy on their faces as they realized that our school does more than just teach us; they really care about our well-being.

Our school is located in a middle-class area where a significant number of students cannot afford eye exams or glasses. The vision care camp organized by your organization was of great help to these students. Our students are happy to receive free glasses and they also appreciate that these glasses are quite fashionable. They expressed their gratitude for this generous gift.

It would be great that your organization will set up a camp on a quarterly basis. Parents will also feel happy if their children get this facility without having to spend any money. At our school, no one has ever set up a camp like that. This is the first time an organization has come to examine eyes and give out free glasses. If other health departments also organize their medical camps, our student enrolment rate will increase.

I am unable to comment on the academic performance of the students. However, they now have a higher level of confidence in their performance as a whole. Students are working more confidently in class and aren’t asking questions about the spelling of words that are written on the board. The glasses that each student received made them very happy. Just two of my students were a little uncomfortable wearing spectacle, but I reassured them that doing so would only benefit them and that they shouldn’t feel self-conscious about it. And in doing so, they can shield their eyes from further issues.
